INDems Response to Larry Bucshon’s Violent Political Stunt at the U.S. Capitol Last Night

Last night, Congressman Larry Bucshon joined a group of Republicans who incited yet more hot rhetoric and egged on violence at the U.S Capitol. This time, Bucshon refused to abide by simple security standards that were put in place following last week’s domestic terrorist attack, and instead, chose to do some political grandstanding in the process. These security measures were meant to protect the safety of him and all other Members of Congress.

After learning about Bucshon’s political stunt, the Indiana Democratic Party issued the following statement:

“Not even a week after a domestic terrorist attack against the U.S. Capitol — one where an Indiana Democrat was a target — and it appears Congressman Larry Bucshon would still rather play rhetorical political games than take necessary precautions to keep all lawmakers (and our country) safe. Bucshon is proving there’s a moral problem within the Indiana Republican Party, because they’d rather abuse our trust and their constitutional duties than to show some common decency during these uncertain times. It truly shows how out of touch they really are.” – Drew Anderson, spokesman for the Indiana Democratic Party
