INDEMS Statement on Todd Rokita Trying to Destroy American Democracy

Add Todd Rokita to the list of Indiana Republicans who are willing to sacrifice our nation’s democracy for political power. The Attorney General-elect called on the U.S. Supreme Court to take up a lawsuit by Texas which challenged other states’ election certifications for the 2020 presidential election. 

After learning of this political stunt, the Indiana Democratic Party issued the following statement:

“Before he is even sworn into office, Todd Rokita is taking the trust Hoosiers placed in him down a rabbit hole of Republican conspiracy theory-based nonsense to further call into the question the results of the November presidential election. If our current Attorney General wasn’t doing enough already to attempt to take away health care from Hoosiers – this effort by Attorney General-elect Rokita shows the Indiana GOP would rather play politics than respect the U.S. Constitution. Rokita’s political stunt is abhorrent, and it foreshadows how he’ll abuse the power of his office just for political theater.” – John Zody, Chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party
