Colts, DT Grover Stewart agree on $30.75 million extension
Indianapolis – The Indianapolis Colts today signed defensive tackle Grover Stewart to a contract extension.
Stewart, 6-4, 315 pounds, is in his fourth season with Indianapolis since being selected by the team in the fourth round (144th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He has played in 56 career regular season games (24 starts) and has totaled 106 tackles (59 solo), 12.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and two passes defensed. Stewart has also appeared in two postseason contests and has tallied two tackles (one solo) and half a sack.
In 2020, Stewart has started all 10 games and has compiled 36 tackles (25 solo), 4.0 tackles for loss and one pass defensed. Among NFL defensive tackles, he is currently tied for second in solo tackles and is tied for seventh in total tackles. Stewart played in all 16 games (13 starts) in 2019 and registered 30 tackles (14 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and one pass defensed. In 2018, he appeared in 15 games (one start) and tallied 17 tackles (eight solo) and 2.0 tackles for loss. Stewart saw action in the Colts’ two postseason contests (one start) and collected two tackles (one solo) and half a sack. As a rookie in 2017, he played in 15 games and recorded 23 tackles (12 solo) and 1.0 tackle for loss.
