Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry officially filed to run for a fifth term as the City’s highest office holder on Monday, January 30, 2023.

If elected to an unprecedented fifth, four-year term as Fort Wayne’s Mayor, Henry says his administration will continue to focus on public safety, neighborhood improvements, good stewardship of taxpayer money, and the economic prosperity the City has enjoyed during the Mayor’s previous terms in office.

“I’m proud of the progress we’ve made to showcase Fort Wayne as the country’s best mid-sized city by nearly every measure,” Henry says. “And now is not the time to make a change. We can be proud of what together we have accomplished, but we still have work to do. I’m energized by the momentum felt throughout every part of our city and want to see through completion the exciting initiatives we’ve begun and those we will announce this year.”

“The pandemic and economic uncertainties have shown us the importance of steady leadership and direction. What we need now, more than ever, is executive experience and an administration that knows how to get things done. I’m motivated and committed to continuing to lead this great City.”

Henry said that while everyone can celebrate the momentum of the City’s riverfront and revitalized downtown, he remains vigilant on the needs and wants of the citizens from every corner of the City. “I will continue focusing on quality of life issues that have made Fort Wayne a sought-after destination to live, work and play,” Henry says. “While I understand that development projects are essential to our economic efforts, I am equally committed to invest in the health and safety of our citizens.”
