HOOSIER VICTORY ALLIANCE LAUNCHES TO HELP PRO-DEMOCRACY HOOSIERS WIN STATE ELECTIONS IN LONG TERM EFFORT TO MAKE INDIANA MORE REPRESENTATIVE
South Bend, Indiana — Hoosier Victory Alliance (HVA), a new 501c4 nonprofit organization, today announces its launch to help pro-democracy Hoosier candidates to win elections and make Indiana’s government more accountable and representative. The organization’s mission is to help pro-democracy candidates craft and disseminate effective messaging, provide new campaigns with tools, expertise, and data, and increase the number of pro-democracy officials in Indiana.
Executive Director Mary Noone of Granger, Indiana says, “HVA is in this for the long haul. We intend to help pro-democracy candidates compete and win elections throughout Indiana so Hoosiers have a government that represents their values. Currently, the extremist supermajority is beholden to wealthy corporate donors, not to their constituents.”
While Noone and co-founder Stephanie Wilson started planning HVA’s launch before the General Assembly passed SB1, the new government-mandated forced-birth law underlines the need to help pro-democracy candidates compete effectively without having to recreate the campaign wheel each time. Noone continues, “We know that Indiana’s extremist supermajority does not represent our values. More than 85% of Hoosiers support reproductive freedom, and the legislature passed the extreme forced-birth law against the will of the majority. We need to elect leaders who share our values and are accountable to their voters.”
Hoosier Victory Alliance is planning its first event and fundraiser for September 18 in Indianapolis. David Pepper, author of Laboratories of Autocracy, will headline the launch event. The event is open to the public and tickets are available via the Hoosier Victory Alliance website www.hoosiervictoryalliance.org. Media should contact HVA via email for tickets.
