It looks like Indiana House Speaker Todd Huston has abruptly left his role as Senior Vice President with College Board today.  The decision to resign comes after there was a clear conflict-of-interest between Huston’s job with College Board and his part-time job serving as leadership in the Culture War Party. The Indiana GOP is currently considering legislation to politicize Indiana’s classrooms via House Bill 1134.

After learning this news, the Indiana Democratic Party released the following statement

“Let this remind Indiana Republican lawmakers that their culture war agenda – that includes putting politics in classrooms and targeting innocent minors – has real world consequences outside of the Indiana General Assembly. Speaker Todd Huston is a walking conflict-of-interest, and while him parting ways from the College Board is good for education overall, House Bill 1134 is still alive and risks putting Indiana’s teacher shortage in overdrive. The Indiana GOP is cementing itself as the Culture War Party, and they would rather divide communities than create a better future for Hoosier families.” – Lauren Ganapini, executive director of the Indiana Democratic Party
