INDems slam Braun’s infrastructure no vote
In light of U.S. Senator Mike Braun voting “NO” on the procedural vote for the bipartisan infrastructure deal – one that Democrats and his Senate colleague Todd Young worked overtime to achieve – the Indiana Democratic Party released the following statement in response to his hollow, partisan stunt:
“More than 830,000 Hoosiers lack access to broadband internet and about 80-percent of Indiana’s rural communities live in poverty, and it’s a shame U.S. Senator Mike Braun would put his partisanship on the infrastructure deal ahead of the very issues he too often claims to care about with Hoosiers. Braun’s “no” vote is partisan politics at its worst. It’s an insult to Democrats — who have worked overtime to find bipartisan solutions for some of Indiana’s most pressing problems, and, frankly, his colleague U.S. Senator Todd Young. This is yet another reminder that Indiana Republicans like Mike Braun care far less about creating a better future for Hoosier families and more about fanning the flames of extreme partisanship and fabricated crises. Once the infrastructure deal becomes law, Democrats look forward to passing other elements of the President’s American Jobs Plan because it’s time to create a better tomorrow for all Hoosiers.” – Drew Anderson, spokesman for the Indiana Democratic Party
