The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today criticized the Indiana Republican Party for once again deploying their blatant partisanship ahead of creating a better future for the state and its families. This time, the Republican supermajority in the Indiana Senate killed two amendments which would have increased the state’s minimum wage and brought equity to the state’s public school system. The votes are in line with what has been a 2021 legislative session based on politics and talking points rather than science, fact, or common-sense — and it’s harming Indiana in the process.

In contrast, the Indiana Democratic Party has checked partisanship at the door to get things done for Hoosier families. State Senator Eddie Melton’s amendments yesterday on the minimum wage and restoring public school funding are only a part of the work by Democrats this year. Indiana Democrats also helped pass the American Rescue Plan, voted for the Protect the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, and delivered on Indiana House Bill 1006. Hoosiers are asking for a return to responsible government and respectable discourse again, and the Democrats are ready to step up.

Here are the new receipts showing the Indiana Republican Party voting against the state’s public schools and hard-working Hoosiers.
