THEN: Victoria Spartz proudly proclaimed that she “fought Obamacare” in a TV ad that aired during the contentious primary in Indiana’s 5th Congressional District.

NOW: But now that her campaign is faltering, she’s falsely moderating her position – stating that she’s “bringing people together for major health care reforms” in her first general election TV ad.

BUT: Spartz has promised to “actively support repeal and replacement” of the Affordable Care Act, which Hoosiers know would put 329,300 Hoosiers in the 5th District who have pre-existing conditions  at risk of losing their care or being charged more, simply because of a condition like asthma, cancer, or diabetes, and 54,000 Hoosiers in the District would lose their coverage.

Statement from DCCC Spokesperson Courtney Rice:

“When dark money-backed Victoria Spartz proudly proclaimed that she’s ‘fought Obamacare,’ she did so in the midst of a pandemic when thousands of Hoosiers had died from coronavirus and even more were unemployed and without health care. Hoosiers won’t be fooled by her half-baked attempts to moderate herself for the general election in order to win this quickly changing suburban district. One thing is clear: Hoosiers can’t trust Victoria Spartz.”
