Congressman Carson Statement on the Death of IMPD Officer Breann Leath

Indianapolis, IN — Congressman André Carson released the following statement on the death of Indianapolis police officer, Breann Leath, who lost her life in the line of duty:
“My heart breaks for Officer Breann Leath, who lost her life in the the line of duty. I send my deepest condolences to her loved ones, as well as to the entire IMPD, who are mourning the loss of a colleague and a friend. Officer Leath was a native Hoosier, a member of the Army National Guard, and a young woman with an extremely bright future ahead of her. As we say goodbye to this public servant and wonderful member of our community, we thank her for all that she accomplished in her 24 years of life. She died serving her community, and keeping her fellow Hoosiers safe. I pray that her loved ones take solace in that fact. My staff and I are available to assist Officer Leath’s family, and the entire IMPD any way we can during this difficult time.”
