McCormick Scores Second Debate Win Against a Lackluster Braun
Tonight, Indiana Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jennifer McCormick won the WISH-TV All Indiana Politics Indiana Governor Debate, making her clear and compelling case to Hoosier voters for restoring common sense and balance to the Statehouse.
“Over the last two nights, Hoosier voters have seen a clear contrast between my optimistic, hopeful, and commonsense vision for Indiana and Mike Braun’s vision rooted in division, fear, and discrimination,” said McCormick. “Hoosier values mean investing in working families and small businesses, protecting reproductive freedoms, and being champions for our public schools, and that’s the type of governor I will be.”
McCormick, Republican nominee Mike Braun, and Libertarian nominee Donald Rainwater debated for an hour from the WISH-TV studios in Indianapolis in a debate broadcast statewide. Topics covered included abortion, Indiana’s economy, and education. The contrast on each was clear. On abortion, McCormick continued to advocate for a restoration of commonsense abortion laws, in contrast to the Braun/Beckwith support for Indiana’s radical abortion ban.
“Hoosiers saw that I trust women and their doctors to make the best decisions for their health,” said McCormick. “Mike Braun has repeatedly voted against protecting IVF and single-handedly blocked the right to birth control.”
McCormick, Braun, and Rainwater will meet on the debate stage for the third and final time in the Indiana Debate Commission Gubernatorial Debate, at 7:00 p.m. on October 24, 2024.
