Welcome back to The Indiana Democratic Party’s weekly series called We Listened So You Don’t Have To: The Micah Beckwith Weird Weekly Roundup, which serves as a one-stop-shop that summarizes all the weird, offbeat, and simply gross things Beckwith says. With no new podcast released last week, we took a look at his social media pages. Prepare yourself people: It gets weird over there. Bonus: At the end of every Roundup, we’ll include the cherry on top, AKA that week’s weirdest moment.

This edition’s items include (and we’re sorry in advance):

  • On September 2, Beckwith uploaded a fake image to Facebook featuring a sign with the words “Welcome to Denverzuela,” presumably referencing  incidents in Aurora, CO, the city has stated “… It is tragic that select individuals and entities have mischaracterized our city based on isolated incidents. We encourage you to build up our community and not allow the hysteria of others to tear it down.” Think you can do this Micah, or is kindness too much to ask?
  • On September 3, Beckwith posed an article with an accompanying caption claiming that climate change is fake. Evansville hit 100 degrees last week which set a new record for the city but sure, everyone was probably sweating for no reason. He would drag climate policy to the bottom of the priority list under a Braun-Beckwith administration.
  • On August 31, Beckwith commended the organization Moms for Liberty for their work. Yup, the same group that used a quote from Hitler.

And the cherries on top?

Beckwith posted yet another fake image (are you seeing a trend here because we sure are) of a military vehicle in the parking lot of a Waffle House to illustrate just how pro gun he is. We know you’re a fanatic, Micah, but maybe try some coffee instead of weapons of mass destruction in the morning. We hear that helps start the day on a positive note.

Following the school shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia on Wednesday, Beckwith shared yet another post showing a row of people aiming guns with the caption, “This is what our southern border should look like.” We just want to know: Has Micah considered the idea that violence is not the solution to every problem?
