We Listened So You Don’t Have To: The Micah Beckwith Weird Weekly Roundup: August 17-26, 2024

Welcome back to The Indiana Democratic Party’s new weekly series called We Listened So You Don’t Have To: The Micah Beckwith Weird Weekly Roundup, which serves as a one-stop-shop that summarizes all the weird, offbeat, and simply gross things Beckwith says. With no new podcast released last week, we took a look at his social media pages. Prepare yourself people: It gets weird over there. Bonus: At the end of every Roundup, we’ll include the cherry on top, AKA that week’s weirdest moment.

This edition’s items include (and we’re sorry in advance):

• On August 18, Beckwith uploaded a post to Facebook advocating for the dissolution of the Department of Education. Having Indiana schools refuse DoE money will cost us billions of dollars every year.
• Beckwith posted a slew of fake propaganda targeting Vice President Kamala Harris, featuring overinflated statistics and AI-generated images of her at a communism-themed rally. This is pathetic, Micah. All we ask is that if you’re going to attack Democrats, do it using facts. 
• Beckwith then later posted photos of himself on X attending a banquet hosted by Life Centers, which operates forced-birth pregnancy centers in central Indiana. These groups helped spearhead Indiana’s draconian abortion ban.
• Beckwith posted a map indicating areas where “left-wing extremist groups” are rising. Spoiler alert: Among the “extremist” organizations listed are the Human Rights Campaign and the Southern Poverty Law Center. 
• Beckwith also posted memes featuring Attorney General Merrick Garland sayingthe AG is trying to overturn the 2024 election, his end goal is communism, and that he takes orders from George Soros. Now mind you, Micah is saying this about a lawyer and judge who has given his entire public service to our republic. It’s just weird and the wrong type of politics.

And the cherry on top? 

Beckwith reposted a fake, AI-generated video by Elon Musk featuring himself dancing alongside convicted felon and former President Donald Trump. There are no words to describe this one other than weird. He reposted another video in the same way that included RFK once he dropped out. In fact, it got us thinking: What ever happened to professionalism, integrity, and respect in politics?
