The AgriInstitute will host a debate in the race for Lieutenant Governor of Indiana on Tuesday, August 13. The debate will feature Democratic candidate Terry Goodin, Libertarian candidate Tonya Hudson, and Republican candidate Micah Beckwith.

The position of Lieutenant Governor plays a crucial role in Indiana’s government. The Lieutenant Governor heads the state’s Agricultural Commission and chairs the offices of Community and Rural Affairs, Energy and Defense Development, Tourism Development, and the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.

“Given the Lieutenant Governor’s role overseeing Indiana’s agricultural sector, it is fitting that the debate will take place at the Indiana State Fair, where the strength of Hoosier agriculture is prominently showcased,” said Democratic candidate Terry Goodin. “I look forward to the opportunity to discuss the McCormick-Goodin common sense vision for the future of Indiana, with a particular focus on issues relevant to agriculture, rural affairs, and community development.”

Hoosiers and the media are encouraged to attend this important debate to hear directly from the candidates on how they plan to address the pressing issues facing Indiana today. The event will be held at the Purdue University Extension Building (formerly the Farm Bureau Building) within the fairgrounds located at 1202 E. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46205 beginning at 3:00pm EST. The event will also be available via livestream on hoosieragtoday.com, the Hoosier Ag Today mobile app, the Hoosier Ag Today YouTube channel, and the Hoosier Ag Today Facebook page.
