The Biden-Harris administration’s Investing in America Agenda is continuing to deliver historic economic progress for Hoosiers – this time with a new investment in affordable, accessible high-speed internet. Thanks to President Biden’s leadership and once-in-a-generation investments in American communities, the BEAD (Broadband Equity Access and Deployment) Program from the Bipartisan Infrastructure and Jobs Act will provide Indiana with an additional $868 million in funding to help bring reliable high-speed internet to every community across the state. No Hoosier Republicans voted for the Jobs Act.

“We all know that high-speed internet service is a necessity in 21st century America. Democrats Frank Mrvan and André Carson were the only Hoosiers in the U.S. House to vote for the Bipartisan Infrastructure deal to make this possible,” said Indiana Democratic Party Chair Mike Schmuhl. “If Republicans had their way, this $868 million investment in Indiana broadband – and much of the $15 billion worth of private investment in our state since 2021 – would never have happened. Thanks to President Biden’s leadership, every household in Indiana will have access to high-speed, reliable and affordable broadband internet.”

Here’s how President Biden’s Investing in America agenda has already helped Indiana get connected:

  • Under the Biden-Harris Administration, Indiana has already received $650 million in funding to provide affordable, reliable high-speed internet to everyone in Indiana.
  • Now, Indiana will receive an additional $868 million from the Administration’s historic Broadband Equity Access and Deployment Program.
  • 354,700 households in Indiana are saving $30-75 per month on high-speed internet through the Biden-Harris Administration’s Affordable Connectivity Program.
