McCray: Banks Focuses on Trump, Not Hoosiers in RNC Address
Banks Focuses on Trump, Not Hoosiers in RNC Address Rep. Jim Banks focused his speech at the Republican National Convention on his allegiance to one man – and not on what he would do for Hoosier families while in the U.S. Senate.
Banks has made it clear that he will vote the party line 100 percent of the time, even when it hurts our state. Tonight, Jim Banks touted how he, his family, and the MAGA Republicans have benefited from the American Dream; but they are not the only ones entitled to this dream.
“I am concerned that the Republican Party continues to instigate fear-based politics, using undocumented immigrants as political pawns. If we deported every undocumented immigrant today, as Banks wants to do, our economy and businesses would suffer. What happened to the America that says: ‘Give me your tired, poor, huddled masses yearning to breathe free?’ Hoosiers deserve a voice in the United States Senate who will work to make meaningful change. As your Senator, I will go to work on the issues Hoosiers care about: growing and protecting union jobs, restoring Roe v. Wade, and keeping the record job-growth going,” said U.S. Senate Democratic nominee Dr. Valerie McCray.
