Carmichael Responds to Affirmative Action Ruling

Another sad day in the United States as the partisan Republican Supreme Court majority strikes down affirmative action in higher education.  Unfortunately this is exactly what the Republican Party and the Federalist Society set out to do many years ago when they realized the only way to keep the US from moving forward into the 21st Century was to pack the federal courts with partisan Republican judges and their lifetime appointments. 

As long as people like Sen Mitch McConnell put party before country by holding up the appointment of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court until after Donald Trump was elected we can continue to expect progress reversing decisions like this and the overturning of Roe V Wade.
Elections have serious consequences, especially elections for the U.S. Senate where federal judges are confirmed for life.  Republican Representative Jim Banks is celebrating this decision just as he celebrated the demise of Roe V Wade.  Voters need to think carefully about whether partisan Republican federal judges are good for our county or not and who they want making those confirmation decisions in the U.S. Senate for Indiana.
