Critchlow Calls for Public Health Support
This evening, the St. Joseph County Council considered a resolution “Commending the St. Joseph County Health Department and Health Officials for Handling of the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
Candidate for County Commissioner, Jason Critchlow supports the resolution saying in part: “County Health officials have kept the health and safety of our families as their priority at all times. They made responsible recommendations based on data and science, often in the face of political and even outrageous personal attacks. If angered by their recommendations, the rightful target of displeasure is the conditions that allow this situation to continue and those who continue to perpetuate political hysteria.”
The St. Joseph County Commissioners have become increasingly vocal in their criticism of local health officials while Board of Commissioners President Andy Kostielney waffles between silence and hostility in public meetings. Addressing this Critchlow stated:
“Commissioner Andy Kostielney is allowing this political circus to continue and refusing to support our local Department of Public Health. It’s important that we have true leadership willing to collaborate and make ending this pandemic our top priority which he is failing to do.”
